Check List of Possible Start up Expenses

Investigate the possible start up expenses you may need for your business.

Start with the bare minimum necessary to run your business efficiently. Many items do not have to be brand new. Search around for bargains. If you are working from home you can probably develop a corner with bits and pieces you already own. There are plenty of ways to keep expenses down without jeopardising your business.

I began in the corner of my dining room. Recently though I had a garden room built to provide an office. So now I write this whilst looking at the garden! However, it was one step at a time.

Use what there is – make money – customize.

There is no real need to furnish an office just to create an impression. Industrial estates and enterprise centres often have rooms available for meeting people. Failing this you can meet clients at a local hotel. I’ve found that Travel Lodge hire out ‘conference rooms’ which are sparse but satisfactory.
