What is Network Marketing?
What is Network Marketing? It is a method of distribution of goods and services from the manufacturer/wholesaler to the end user via a network of distributors. It is at the forefront of direct selling. It uses groups of distributors to find customers in order to move goods and services. This system of distribution is also referred to as MLM or Multi Level Marketing. Direct Selling delivers straight to consumers either in their homes or may be their places of work.
It’s a business which needs no premises. Each distributor works from home. No staff are employed. Those involved can work their business on a full time or part time basis. The hours are flexible which means that people can fit it into their lives. At its simplest, network marketing is an extremely good way for any company to retail its goods and services. It means that they are relieved of the traditional way of moving product. These include such areas as advertising, wholesalers, retail outlets, mail order or the staff involved at each stage. All these incur great expense. The savings on all these costs can be shared out within the network of distributors. This explains how distributor incomes are able to reach such exciting levels.
Almost half a million people in the UK are involved in Network Marketing. They were probably attracted because monetary investment is very low. This is why it is often referred to as the “People’s Franchise”. Reputable companies distribute good quality ‘fit for purpose’ goods and services which are regularly re-ordered. There must be sales of product otherwise there is no money for anyone to be paid. Distributors in a Network Marketing or Multi Level Marketing opportunity receive no profits or commissions on sales aids. This includes starter kits to new people which keeps the business focused upon the moving of product to the end user.
Network marketers are paid profits and bonuses on their own sales and commissions on the sales of people within their group. Groups are built using the power of personal recommendation. The bigger the group the more bonuses filter through to the leader. Of course, not very much income is generated from people several levels down from the leader. However, because of the numbers involved the amounts added together can be substantial. John Paul Getty: “I’d rather earn one per cent of a hundred people’s efforts that 100 per cent of my own.” This is the principle behind payments within network marketing.
Network Marketing or Multi Level Marketing is an industry closely monitored by the Office of Fair Trading. The Direct Selling Association is very concerned that its members abide by regulations. In the UK nearly £2 billion in sales is generated by network marketing. Consumers enjoy the home delivery and personal service offered by this method of distribution.
Network Marketing is simple – so simple that anyone can do it. Income is generated from low capital investment. Training, marketing and wide product ranges are part and parcel of the whole. Many successful people in Network Marketing actually came across the opportunity by pure chance when they were in need of extra cash. It is simple but demanding. There are many who have made substantial incomes. These people achieved this by persistence and hard work. As noted before, this business will fit around any current responsibilities. It is not a get rich quick scheme. For those prepared to put in the effort there are good rewards. Big business yields long term residual income.
All Network Marketing is based on “the System”. This is the route to success and must be followed by all distributors. It is a simple and easy to understand way of building a business. Everyone receives encouragement and support within the network. It is all about time management and talking with people. It is the ultimate equal opportunity. Everyone who joins has the same chances to reach the top. No matter what a person’s previous experience, what age or gender, what background s/he can make a success of the business by just getting on and doing it. The companies offer good income, recognition for achievements, travel, fun new relationships and desired lifestyles.
